How I record my Vocals from My Smartphone?
By following these basic & simple instructions, you will soon be able to get know about everything.
*Record Your Vocals at a Silent Place
First of all & the most important thing is that, Be at a Silent Place. Yes, this is the most thing that you have to do & also make the room reverbless by placing curtains, pillows, cloths etc. to not to get the background noise in your recording & make its quality better in your windows, android smartphone.
*Place a Hanky or cotton cloth on Your Smartphone Microphone
Place a Hanky on your smartphone's mic so that the unnecessary sound like buzz, fizz gets reduced.
*Record Your Vocals after 4-5 seconds
Yes, this is again an important thing that after you press the recording button of your recorder (any audio recorder in your smartphone) , don't say a single word upto 4-5 seconds. Why this is? This is because in the first 4-5 seconds, all the background noise will be captured & it can be easily removed from all of your vocals easily. I tell it in the later steps, that how you can remove the unnecessary background noise.

How I Edit my Vocals in Audacity?
By following the steps given below, you will see that your sound quality gets more attractive & it improves like you have recorded it in the Studio.
1.) Record your Audio in Audacity or Simply Just Import It
Now, you have recorded your Vocals from your smartphone, Copy it in your Laptop or PC & Open Audacity software, import your Audio Sample Here.
2.) Removing the Background Noise
Now it's time to do the main step so that your voice sounds clear.

- Select that beginning portion of 4-5 seconds in which you see that there are small buzzez. After Selecting that portion, Simple go to Effects : Noise Reduction : Get Noise Profile. This means that the noise in that part is captured & it is now ready to remove it from the whole track.

- Now, select the complete track by "Double Click" on the track. Then, Again go to Effect : Noise Reduction : Then Click on "OK". Now, you will see that all the background Noise has been removed from the track. & then if there is some noise left, select that portion & press "CTRL + L". It will silent that area.
3.) Copy & Paste Same Track & Apply Reverb
Most of the editors make this kind of mistake that they apply all the effects, filters in a single track only, which is according to me doesn't sound that much natural. I from my personal experience sharing this trick to you.
- Firstly, Select the whole track in which you have the noise reduction & Copy it by pressing "CTRL + C".
- Paste it below by pressing "CTRL + V".

- Press "OK".

4.) Pan Track in Left & Right Ear
Now select the track in which reverb is applied by double clicking on it. Copy it by pressing "CTRL + C" & paste it below two times by pressing "CTRL + V". Why 2 Times? I am explaining it to you. See, Pan 1st track to the left & second to the right. It will create sterio effect, & you will be able to hear your vocals in both your left & Right Ear.

5.) Mix & Render the Track
After panning your vocals, you just select all the tracks by pressing "CTRL + A", & click on Tracks : Mix : Mix and Render.
What will happen by doing this?
Mix & Render means all of your tracks which you have selected now combine into a single track.

6.) Compression
Now apply the Compressor, it will help the track to maintain a particular threshold and sounds vocal natural. Apply Compressor by - Effect : Compressor & Keep the settings be like :
Threshold = -20db
Noise Floor = -40db
Ratio = 2:1
Attack Time = 0.20 secs
Release Time = 1.0 secs
7.) Normalisation
Now, Normaliser your track by Effect : Normalisation, Then press "OK". It will normalise your track.

8.) Apply Echo
Now, apply a little bit echo, to add a little touch of studio like in your vocals. Keep Decay factor =0.2 , & Delay time = 0.1 secs.

9.) Bass & Treble Boost

Treble boost makes the sound more crispy type & Bass boost adds bass in your voice. So add these effects in your vocals by - Effect : Graphic EQ : Manage : Factory Presets : Treble Boost. Then Click "OK"

10.) Limiter
Now Apply Limiter. Limiter basically works as it cuts the top most & bottom peaks so that the vocals doesn't sound strange. Apply Limiter by the following - Effect : Limiter : Then press "OK"
